BANKING OF CITIES IN THE CLASSICAL PERIOD (I- III CENTURY A.D.)

        Entre los siglos I y III d.C. la actividad bancaria fue realizada también por las civitates, que podían prestar dinero con intereses, como forma de inversión. Se analizan los aspectos administrativos del contrato de mutuo desde el punto de vista del acreedor municipal. 

ABSTRACT                   

          Between the first and the third century A.D., banking was practised also by civitates, that could loan public money under interests as a way of investment. The article examines the administrative aspects of the loan agreement from the municipal creditor’s point of view.
