RESUMEN
Una constitución imperial fechada en época de los emperadores Honorio y
Teodosio II, recogida en CTh 7,17,
bajo el título «De lusoriis Danuvii»
y dirigida a Constancio, magister militum
per Thracias, constituye la principal
referencia normativa para el análisis de la configuración administrativo-militar
de las patrullas fluviales en el área oriental del limes danubiano a comienzos del s. V. A partir del citado texto, es
posible inferir algunas de las características fundamentales de este tipo de
unidades en las provincias de Moesia Secunda y Escitia Menor, así como tratar
de precisar su reorganización desde un punto de vista administrativo y militar.
ABSTRACT
An imperial constitution, dated back to the
reigns of emperors Honorius and Theodosius II, collected in CTh 7,17 under the title «De lusoriis Danuvii» and addressed to
Constans, magister militum per Thracias,
represents the main legal reference for the analysis of the administrative
setup of river frontier patrols in the Eastern Danube area during early 5th
century. Based on the mentioned text, it is possible to deduce some of the key
features of the fleets and the reorganization of those units in the provinces
of Moesia Secunda and Scythia Minor, from a military and administrative point
of view.
